Journal’s Overview

The BOSU Journal of Research and Development Studies (BOSUJRDS) is a peer-reviewed academic journal published biannually in June and December. The journal invites original and high-quality research papers in all areas of Development Studies.

Submissions may include original research articles, survey papers, case studies, review articles, and other scholarly works that advance knowledge in research, development, and practical applications. BOSUJRDS provides an intellectual platform for scholars to engage with issues of regional, national, and global development.

The journal publishes conceptual, theoretical, and empirical studies across disciplines, including Arts, Sciences, Social Sciences, Education, Management Sciences, Agriculture, and other multidisciplinary areas related to past, present, and future development challenges.

Objectives

The core objective of BOSUJRDS is to disseminate seminal research that promotes innovative thinking in policy formulation, program development, and professional practice, with particular emphasis on people, culture, environment, resources, and socio-economic development within local, national, and global contexts.

EDITORIAL GUIDELINES

  • Submitted manuscripts must be original and not under consideration or previously published elsewhere.
  • Articles should be structured as follows: Introduction, Literature/Theoretical Review, Methodology, Discussion of Findings, Conclusion, and References.
  • Manuscripts should not exceed fifteen (15) pages, A4 size, typed in Times New Roman, 12-point font, with 1.15 line spacing. Sub-headings should be in uppercase, 12-point font.
  • The title of the paper should not exceed 15 words, centered, and typed in 20-point font. Author(s)’ names should appear in 18-point font.
  • A cover page must contain the title of the article, author(s)’ names, institutional affiliation, and designation. An abstract of not more than 150 words, typed in italics, must be included.
  • Tables, figures, and charts should be placed within the text and must not span more than one page.
  • References should appear on a separate page and be arranged alphabetically in accordance with the current APA style. Use 10-point font for references.
  • Manuscripts written in Arabic or French are acceptable.
  • Arabic manuscripts should be typed in Sakkal Majalla, 14-point font for text, 16-point for headings, and 15-point for sub-headings.
  • Articles written in languages other than English must include an English abstract and keywords.
  • All submissions are subject to blind peer review and plagiarism screening to ensure relevance and originality.
  • An assessment fee of ₦5,000.00 must accompany each submission.
  • Upon acceptance, a publication fee of ₦25,000.00 shall be paid before final publication.
